  2. You mentioned power cycling a motherboard. How would you go about doing that? Just unplug the computer and plug it back in? I’m just curious.

    I have 2 ways of power cycling a motherboard.

    1) unplug the PC from the mains electricity for a few minutes (in some cases, up to 10 minutes)

    2) same as above, but to speed up the process, once the power is disconnected, I push the PC power button… the PC might light up for a few moments, as it drains any residual power from the power supply. I then wait about 5 seconds, then re-connect power.
